Travel Insurance
Travel insurance for traveling abroad is a coverage that many people don’t realize they need. It is not expensive and well worth the investment for medical coverage during the period of time you are traveling. You might have a medical issue that needs addressing but isn’t considered an “emergency.” Most private insurance plans cover you internationally ONLY for emergencies. You have to bring home translated receipts for services you’ve already paid for and hope the insurance company will reimburse you. Medicare only covers providers who accept Medicare, so international isn’t covered at all, unless you have a Medigap plan that offers some limited coverage.
